Germany legalises same sex marriage

German politicians have voted to legalise same-sex marriage. A total of 393 politicians voted to legalising "marriage for everybody", while 226 voted against and four abstained from voting.
The snap vote took place today, only days after Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel changed her mind to allow a free vote.

Ms Merkel, has always been against same-sex marriage, but she allowed for the vote after sayingon Mondaythat politicians could take up the issue as a "question of conscience". As expected, she voted against the bill citing concerns over the welfare of children.
Members of Ms Merkel's conservative coalition were given the freedom to individually vote for their choice rather than follow party lines. The Chancellor said though she voted against legalising gay marriage, she hoped Parliament's approval of the measure would lead to more social cohesion.
She said: "For me, marriage in the basic law is marriage between a man and a woman and that is why I did not vote in favour of this bill today."
Germany has allowed same-sex couples to enter civil partnerships since 2001, but same-sex marriages had remained illegal. All of Ms Merkel's potential coalition partners after theSeptember 4election have been calling for the legalisation of same-sex marriage. However, her traditional Catholic conservative bloc was not happy when she announced that she would allow politicians to vote on same-sex marriage according to their individual conscience drew the ire of some in her traditionally Catholic conservative bloc.
The "marriage for all" bill will grant gay and lesbian couples full marital rights and allows them to adopt children. It will likely be signed into law by the President some time afterJuly 7.

Edo police arrests Pastor, his sister for allegedly trafficking young girls to Russia

The Edo State Police command have arrested one Pastor Endurance Ehioze and his sister for allegedly trafficking young girls to Russia.

Confirming their arrest to Vanguard, the commissioner of police in the state, Haliru Gwandu, said they were arrested after an NGO who got wind of their illicit activities, reported them to the police. Narrating her experience in the hands of the pastor and his sister, one of the victims, 24 year old Miss Florence Abu, said;
“It all started in 2012 when a member of my Church at Isihor, a Pastor, said he wanted to see me in church. I went. He asked me if I will like to travel out and I told him yes but that I don’t have money. He assured me that the money wasn’t a problem. He said his sister, based in Russia, will take me abroad. He said in less than two months I will be able to pay up the money my madam will spend and that since am a hair stylist and singer I will make it. Later, I was introduced to the sister abroad. Her name is Vivian Ehioze. I had to borrow money to do my passport. She kept calling and assuring me that all will be well. I was made to take oath of allegiance. As part of oath of allegiance they took my pubic hair and nails which they kept and said whenever I finished payment, I will be free from any evil attack.” Florence said she was dumped on the streets of Russia after she paid $45,000 to her madam. She added that she has contracted a mysterious disease and would be needing the help of Nigerians to rehabilitate her life.

Nollwood actor, Victor Eze popularly known as Alika of Fuji house of commotion is dead

Reports reaching us said Nollywood actor Victor Eze is dead.
The actor who is popular for his role as Alika in the popular comedy series, Fuji House of Commotion, died yesterday June 26th after a long battle with stroke. Ex-housemate, Thin Tall Tony, took to his IG page to mourn the late writer, director and producer.

“Was looking like a great day until I heard about your passing sir…he! Ladies and gentlemen has been my biggest influence in characters on stage (he was too good on stage and a Lord in switching roles) he could play 6 roles in one production and you couldn’t tell the difference…we! Dancers, stage actors from the national theatre will always miss you”.His passing has reportedly being confirmed by the former President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr Segun Arinze.

A Nigerian doctor identified as Dr Ejike Arum has been accused of turning a 16-year-old girl into his sex slave – allegedly sleeping with her in his place of work at Enugu state Teaching Hospital, NHelm reports.
According to the reporter, the doctor who is married allegedly dis-virgined the girl after brainwashing her and also locked up the girl’s sibling when he was confronted.

Billionaire Kidnapper: ‘Why Evans hasn’t been arraigned in court yet’ – Police

Two weeks after the arrest of a notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans, the police have yet to determine when the suspect will be arraigned in court.
This is just as the Lagos State Police Command said it was not aware of any other media interview with Evans since he was paraded on June 11.
Punch reports that the 36-year-old was apprehended on Saturday, June 10, 2017.
He also revealed his involvement in drug trafficking and robberies.
Six of his gang members were also paraded.
A Lance Corporal, Victor Chukwunonso, attached to the Nigeria Army Band Corps, Abatti Barracks, Surulere, Lagos State, had also been arrested by the police for allegedly belonging to the kidnappers’ gang.

However, the police said they were still taking an inventory of Evan’s criminal activities.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, on Monday, stated that he would be arraigned after investigations.
He directed our correspondent to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Moshood Jimoh, for details on the arraignment date.
He said, “After investigations, the Inspector-General of Police will give directive onwhat to do.
“There are some other pieces of information about the suspect that must be known to us about things that happened years ago. We have to update all of them in our record. You can call the FPRO for other necessary information.”
Famous-Cole also said the command had not presented Evans to the media for interview since the June 11 parade, adding that the police were not aware of other purported interviews with him.
“Journalists interviewed him during the parade led by the FPRO. Information being put out now probably came from the parade on that day. I am not aware of any other parade.”The FPRO did not pick calls and had yet to reply to a text message sent to him as of press time.

A man diagnosed as Amos Okechukwu has been arrested with the aid of the police for allegedly killing his chinese boss, Alice Xu on Friday at her residence in Tayo near, Akinola Cole property, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja.
